From the very first moment I was introduced to Our International Academy I fell in love with the school and all they had to offer; I immediately knew that OIA would be a perfect fit for my son. During June 2023, my son Lucas joined OIA’s summer program and his experience that summer changed his outlook on school. Lucas became very engaged and interactive, he immediately made friends and looked forward to each day with excitement. This was a very different experience than his kindergarten school year and I knew that given the opportunity I wanted my son to attend OIA.
I made every effort to enroll Lucas at OIA but unfortunately, he remained on a waiting list that school year. Lucas had no choice than to return to public school during first grade and our experience was not a very positive one given the lack of resources provided for children with challenging behaviors such as Lucas. Regrettably, with each day came new issues at the school and this weighed heavily on our family. Lucas is a very smart loving little boy and school became an ordeal for him; at times he did not want to attend school and we suffered and pushed through every day. As a mom, this broke my heart to hear him say he hated school.
Fast forward to April 2024, I met with Renata, the Director of OIA and there was talk of opening Bright Bridge Preparatory. I personally was very excited to hear of this new program and hoped that Lucas would get accepted. One thing I was certain of as an involved mother is that if I could change anything it would be that my son would not return to public school as I knew what he truly required was a school that was much more hands on and interested in the development of each child.
June 2024, my son attended OIA’s summer program for the second year during an experimental Bright Bridge Preparatory program. This was the start of a beautiful and exciting collaboration between the two schools. Over the summer of 2024, Lucas learned so much in 8 short weeks and that showed his capabilities when he is engaged and challenged to learn.
During August 2024, Lucas was accepted and started his second grade at Bright Bridge Preparatory. We were all excited for the new school year. The best thing was Lucas finally had a great first day of school. In a short amount of time, my son Lucas, has shown significant improvement not only academically but most importantly emotionally. This is all due to Bright Bridge Preparatory. Lucas is excited to go to school and learn; school is no longer an ordeal. His interactions with his peers have become more engaging in a positive way. He is using his words to communicate effectively and even displays better social skills. He is working independently whereas before he would need prompting and reminding. Bright Bridge is a warm, positive, and loving environment. The teachers and staff care about their school and most importantly fostering young minds. They show genuine daily interest towards the children and I personally see a huge difference in my son. Most importantly Lucas puts forth maximum effort academically. Given the different circumstances of each child in the classroom it is impressive how well it is handled by the teachers and what a difference this has made in how Lucas no longer responds in a negative manor. He is learning patience and demonstrating patience towards his classmates.
In my opinion, the teachers and staff at Bright Bridge foster resilience, empathy, and integrity. These qualities have helped my son develop self-confidence, self-discipline, and a strong sense of identity. My son Lucas is shown respect by all his teacher’s as well as the administration and in return he is motivated not only intellectually but most importantly emotionally.

As a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) with a background in psychology and extensive experience in various educational settings, I’ve had the privilege of working with numerous schools. However, Bright Bridge Preparatory stands out as a truly exceptional place for children on the autism spectrum. I am thrilled to witness this school’s innovative approach to education and its profound impact on the students it serves.
One of the standout aspects of Bright Bridge Preparatory is its commitment to individualized learning plans tailored to each student's unique academic abilities and needs. This personalized approach relieves the pressure often associated with traditional schooling and ensures that each student can thrive at their own pace.
The sensory-friendly environments at the school are thoughtfully designed to minimize distractions, promote emotional regulation, and enhance comfort. This creates a supportive space where students feel secure and are better able to collaborate with others. These environments are key in fostering a sense of inclusion and belonging.
What further sets Bright Bridge apart are the inclusive extracurricular activities offered, such as music, performing arts, and physical education. These programs broaden the students' horizons and enrich their overall learning experience, allowing them to explore their interests in a safe and nurturing environment.
I am excited to see Bright Bridge Preparatory grow and expand, as they continue to set new standards for inclusive and compassionate education for children on the spectrum. Their dedication to holistic development and individualized support makes this school an inspiring place for both students and educators.

Our International Academy has truly and totally transformed my daughter’s educational journey. With ADHD and a learning disability, she struggled in traditional settings, was lost in her classroom and came home crying on a daily basis. Here, the caring staff and personalized approach have not only improved her academic progress but also boosted her self-esteem. The nurturing environment empowers her to embrace her uniqueness and thrive. I am beyond grateful for the positive impact this school has had on her growth, confidence, and love for learning.
For my son, who is on the Autism spectrum, Our International Academy has been a beacon of hope and understanding. The school's compassionate approach and individualized support have made all the difference, allowing him to feel valued and capable. He’s blossomed socially and academically, gaining skills and confidence I never thought possible in a school setting. I am endlessly thankful for the genuine care and commitment that continue to shape his bright future.
Thank you so much for all you do for Sylvia and Zane!
Cheers,
